Friends of the Library Endowment  

The Friends of the Library Endowment was established in 2000 to purchase materials for the collections. Several donors made generous contributions to launch the FOL Endowment initially. Since that time, the FOL Endowment has grown dramatically as donors make hundreds of gifts to the fund each year.

As with all endowments, the FOL Endowment’s funds are invested, so that only the interest income is used. In this way, the endowment principal continues to grow. Donations to the FOL Endowment help create a continuous source of funding with which we can build and enrich the Library’s collections. Endowments for collections encourage strategic planning around collection building. While some endowments are designated for a specific field or discipline, the FOL Endowment is intentionally broad, which enables the Library to spend its proceeds where most needed.
