UMASS AMHERST LIBRARIES OFFERS JANUARY WORKSHOPS
FOR FACULTY AND INSTRUCTORS
Amherst, MA – The UMass Amherst Libraries will offer two workshops in January, “Putting Reading Lists Online in RefShare,” Thursday, January 8, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, and “Finding Library Resources,” Tuesday, January 20, 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., in the Du Bois Library. To register, email instruction@library.umass.edu. Classroom location will be confirmed upon registration.
“Putting Reading Lists Online in RefShare” will illustrate how to create sharable reading lists that link back to the library's subscriptions and print holdings. It will also demonstrate how to import RefShare reading lists into SPARK courses, course blogs, Web pages, and emails. Students and colleagues can export the reading lists into their own RefWorks accounts. RefShare is a feature in RefWorks, a web-based citation management software program used to organize and generate bibliographies, manage citations, and retrieve references.
“Finding Library Resources” will discuss the vast number of credible online resources available through the Library. It will also illustrate how to link these resources to SPARK, blogs, and other online tools so that students find them as easy to use as the Google search box.
