Reference Services is part of the Research and Instructional Services Department. It supports research by assisting with the use of UMass Amherst Library resources, licensed electronic databases, and research materials from other sources. Our highly trained subject specialists (liaisons), general reference librarians, and other staff assist with in-person, phone, email, and chat/virtual inquiries. They also offer in-depth consultations by appointment. Our staff help you find information and resources you need in the Library or on the Internet. We expect that you will ask us questions! About Reference Services summarizes our work.
