MEANING OF CAT DATES IN INNOPAC

Cat Date
Use
12/1/93 Initial database load, approximately 1,080,000 records, already passed through BNA for record cleanup and authority control.
1/1/94 Used by Acquisitions for CD-ROM serials records, and for cover records for contin./cat.sep. and contin./anal. titles, and 18 titles which have changed from ser.add to ser./anal.
1/15/94 Records transferred directly from LS/2000 to Innopac without passing through BNA. Nearly all of these have changed to 8/28/94.
8/28/94  All but about 5 or 6 dozen records which previously had Cat Dates in the range 1/15/94 - 8/31/94, after being extracted (i.e. copied) from Innopac, sent to BNA for authority control, returned and reloaded.
9/25/94 About 700 records previously with Cat Dates in the range 9/1/94 - 9/30/94, after being changed by BNA during authority control processing.
1/1/95 The initial Marquise GPO database load of 216,000+ records.
1/8/95 Records with 240 fields in which the indicator value was changed from 0 to 1, and records in the same review list with 130 fields in which no change was made.

Other Cat Dates:

Monday - Friday:  Records sent over the interface by Information Processing.

Saturday:  Weekly OCLC tape loads, the date is the Saturday at the end of the week during which the catalog was produced or updated on OCLC, or for which the Cat Date was changed during online revision so that the change will be authority-checked by BNA.

Sunday:  Monthly GPO tapes will have the Cat Date set to the next-to-last Sunday of the month covered by the tape, and corrected records returned from BNA will have the Cat Date set to the last Sunday of the month represented by the Cat Dates in the records that were shipped to BNA.
