LINKING/CATALOGING DECISION FOR UNANALYZED TITLES IN SER/ANAL SERIES
Numerous analyzed series (ser anals) lack cataloging copy in the III data base for individual titles. Given the frequency of these occurrences, the following is recorded as a decision:Top of page1. Where a ser anal title lacks a cataloging record in II for a specific title link the number (volume, part, etc.) to the main series bibliographic record.
2. Give information concerning such cases to the Head of the Serials Section, who will record in the check-in record the following:
a. In the MORE INFO NOTE:3. Series bibliographic records in these cases will not be reviewed for fullness or accuracy.
Some titles not analyzed.b. In the NOTE field:Some older volumes lack their own catalog record in III. These volumes should have an item record created and attached to the series (i.e., this) bibliographic record.4. All analyzed titles are linked only to the individual title records and not also to the series record as indicated above.
Note: This situation occurs only in the Main Library (and possibly in the Music Library)
