CATALOGING OF DVD-ROMS
1. The cataloging of DVD-ROMs will follow the pattern established in the Policy on Cataloging of CD-ROMs. Note the following points.2. The location code used for DVD-ROMs will be the same as the ones currently utilized for CD-ROMs. The existing codes are being re-defined as CD-ROM and DVD-ROM.
3. When cataloging a DVD-ROM, the first element of the call number will be DVD-ROM. When the DVD-ROM is cataloged for the general collections (Media, Music, Phys Sci Perm Reserve, Morrill Perm Reserve) the call number will consist of DVD-ROM and an accession number. Each location will have a separate accession number sequence. DVD-ROMs located in Reference do not have sequence numbers (usually these are on stand-alone computers).
