NON-PRINT MATERIAL TERMINOLOGY
Terms to use when describing accompanying material in the |e portion of the 300 field; and, in the volume field of its item record when such accompanying material is physically separate from the main piece rather than included in a pocket with the piece.Top of pageRefer to textual material using the term that best describes the material, e.g., teacher’s notes; guide; atlas; pamphlet, etc. Give a physical description, such as number of pages and height in cm., if appropriate. The volume field in the item record should use an appropriate corresponding short word, e.g., guide; text; booklet, etc.
