SERIES AUTHORITY WORKFLOW FOR CATALOGING WITH LC COPY
1. Proofread all headings for spelling and tagging accuracy.Top of page2. Search each numbered series in Innopac.
a. If an authority record found, make sure that the heading on the cataloging copy matches the authorized form, if the series is controlled. Check to see whether the series is classed together, or if there are other special instructions. If Acquisitions indicates that a series is classed together locally and the authority record in Innopac lacks this information, inform the Series Authority Unit.3. If a series new to the Library is classed together by LC, consult with the Head of the Cataloging Department to establish our local practice. If the series is to be classed together locally, forward the series information on an OCLC authority record printout to the Series Authority Unit to provide an authority record.b. If no authority record is found, assume the heading is correct and that BNA will provide us with the authority record if it is a controlled series.
4. If there is a serial information form in the book, fill it out and return it to the Serials Section in Acquisitions.
