Music Collection

Music materials are housed in the W.E.B. Du Bois Library with the exception of Music Course Reserves.

  • Books, scores, and journals are housed on the 21st floor of the W.E.B. Du Bois Library. Note that Folios (that is, oversize books and scores) are shelved before M1
  • Compact discs, cassette tapes, reel-to-reel tapes, videotapes, videodiscs, LPs, and playback equipment are located in the Media Department on the 3rd floor. For information, contact the Media Department at 577-0612 or send email to avreserves@library.umass.edu
  • Monuments (that is, M2 and M3 scores) and the Werfel score collection are housed in the Media Department on the 3rd floor of the Du Bois Library. For information, contact the Media Department at 577-0612
  • Music Reference collection is part of the general reference collection, located near the Reference Desk on the east end of the Main Floor of the Du Bois Library
  • Music Reference service is available from Pam Juengling, Music Librarian. Contact her in person in the Reference Department, located on the Main Floor of the Du Bois Library, by phone at 413 545-1858, or email juengling@library.umass.edu. If she is not avaiable, contact the Reference Desk at 413 545-0150 or use Ask a Librarian
  • Music Course Reserve materials are in the Music Reserve Lab in Fine Arts Center Room 149A. For assistance with Music Course Reserves, call 577-2711, or email musiclab@library.umass.edu
