Task: Using your database of choice, look for 2 articles on your topic. Fill out a checklist for each article.
What are the subject headings or keywords that you searched for?
Look at the other subject headings and words in the title. What are some other terms you might use to find more information on this topic?
What terms or phrases led you to believe this would be relevant to your needs?

Is the full text of the article available in the database you are searching?

 

 

If yes, e-mail yourself the full text.

If no, use the UMass Catalog and the Ejournal locator to see if UMASS "owns" the journal.

What is the call number of the journal if UMASS owns it? Look at the library catalog http://www.library.umass.edu/cgi-bin/aka/babel.cgi?dokma=http://umlibr.library.umass.edu
If in the Du Bois Library on what floor will you find this journal? (Use the Floor Directory).
Writing the Elements of the Citation:
Who is the author(s) or editor(s) of the article?
What is the title of the article? 
What is the full name of the journal in which the article appears?
What is the journal volume and issue number?
What is the date of publication? 
What are the page numbers?
