Your topic is central - it determines the kind of information source that you want, and how you search.

For example:

If you need scholarly information, you rely primarily on scholarly books and journal articles, for example, an article from JAMA, The Journal of the American Medical Association. If you want popular opinion, magazine articles might be your best bet, maybe an article from Time or Newsweek. If you are researching a very current, late-breaking issue, you might turn to newspapers or the Web.
