Procrastination Station
Over the course of several weeks, and after soliciting over 60 names and hundreds of votes, the winner of the café naming contest is Krystin (Kryssi) Jacobson, '07, a regular in the Library. Kryssi is an Animal Science major from Boxford , MA who submitted the name, “Procrastination Station,” which won twice as many votes as any others.
One night, while having trouble concentrating on her studies, Kryssi went to the café for a snack (and to procrastinate). After learning about the contest, the name came to her in a flash. For her creativity and good humor, she gets free coffee or tea for a month.
Procrastination Station, located in the lobby, serves Rao's coffee and a variety of baked goods, including muffins, bagels, and cookies, as well as cold beverages. Sandwiches and salads will be offered in the near future. Handsome spill-proof coffee mugs and water bottles are available for a small donation.
The Du Bois Library lobby is under renovation and new comfortable furniture and carpeting for the café are expected shortly, along with a stand-up coffee bar, new service desks, and the relocation of the new book collection.
