DU BOIS LIBRARY CONSTRUCTION PROJECT BEGINS JUNE 1

     Amherst , Mass. - The removal and replacement of the concrete deck around the W.E.B. Du Bois Library at UMass Amherst is scheduled to begin on June 1.

     During this summer's work, the Library hours will be reduced, but services will not be curtailed. The hours of operation will be Monday to Thursday 1-7 p.m., Friday 1-5 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m. The Integrated Sciences & Engineering Library will be open weekdays 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

     Many Library services, including more than 300 databases, 11,771 electronic journals, 75,000 electronic books, and 24-hour reference service, are available day or night via the Library web site ( www.library.umass.edu ).
