UMass Amherst Libraries Hosts EDUCAUSE Web Symposium

“Education for Our Times: Expertise and Engagement”

Amherst, MA – The UMass Amherst Libraries will host “Education for Our Times: Expertise and Engagement“ on May 24 & 25, 2006, from 12:00 pm to 4:45 pm, both days.  The EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative Web Symposium will be held in the Du Bois Library in Room 1620.  Faculty and staff in academic affairs, student services, information technology, and the Library are invited to come to one or several sessions.

In a world reshaped by technology and characterized by rapid knowledge growth, everyone is looking for a competitive edge. Often that "edge" is education. But is it education as we know it today?  Nationally recognized experts will address questions such as:  What will it take for our students to be successful in an era of complexity and rapid change? How do we create engaging and successful learning environments? What are our roles?
