New Databases Available Via the UMass Amherst Library
Amherst , MA . – The UMass Amherst Library recently added several new databases to its collection of electronic resources. For a complete list of all of the Library's databases and more detailed database information, see http://www.library.umass.edu/ .
The new databases include:
ARTstor – A collection of 300,000 catalogued, searchable works of fine art, architecture and design.
BioMed Central - Free (open source) access to peer-reviewed biomedical research in over 100 journals.
Film Literature Index - Citations to articles appearing in film journals from 130 countries, including both scholarly and popular periodicals.
Google Scholar Beta – A search engine for locating scholarly material on the Internet.
Grzimek's Animal Life Encyclopedia – An online version of the comprehensive, lavishly illustrated zoology encyclopedia.
Japan Knowledge – Includes English-Japanese and Japanese-English dictionaries, Encyclopedia Nipponica, Encyclopedia of Japan, and other tools for learning Japanese.
Mintel Market Intelligence - Information on consumer behavior and market share for U.S. and European industries.
Quarterly Index of African Periodical Literature - Indexes over 300 primarily scholarly periodicals from 29 African countries.
