ANNOUNCES IMPROVEMENTS
Amherst, MA — Several improvements took place at the Du Bois Library this summer. The Learning Commons on the lower level was expanded to include new computer workstations, more glass study rooms, and a designated area for the Writing Center. The second floor quiet study space now has 48 modular work stations similar to those in the Learning Commons and 11 new lounge chairs. The renovation of the third floor, complete with furniture, carpeting, and new painting is underway. The 26th floor received new paint and carpeting as part of its complete renovation. New flooring was installed on several upper floors.
The exterior improvements around Du Bois Library include new brick and cement paving and new doors in the Tippo courtyard. Work on the Class of ’55 Garden on the north side of the Library is complete and the dedication will take place on Saturday, September 23, 2006.
