Computers, Internet, and Wireless Access
Open Access Computers provided by the Library:


PCs for Library Catalog and Internet research are located on the Lower Level in the Learning Commons between the Learning Commons and Technical Support Desk and the Reference and Research Assistance Desk.  These computers (Libr100-145) are open to the public and do not require a UMass NetID and password. 
These PC workstations are equipped with the Microsoft Office 2003 Productivity software package, which includes:
MS Word
MS Excel
MS PowerPoint
MS Digital Image Suite
Student Graphing Calculator
MS MapPoint
MS Infopath
MS OneNote
MS Student
MS Visio Pro
Scanning available

Printing from Library PCs requires a UCard and costs 5¢ per page.  Follow the instructions at the printing stations or ask for assistance at the Learning Commons and Technical Support Desk.


Student, Faculty, and Staff Computers provided by OIT Computer Classrooms:

PCs and MACs for students, faculty, and staff with oit accounts (NetID) are located in the Learning Commons in the east and south sides of the Lower Level (OIT 1-105).

Wireless Connections at the Library:

The Library has a UMass wireless network extending from the Lower Level Learning Commons up to the third floor.  To access this network, your laptop or other computing device must be wireless capable and configured for the UMass connection.  Visit "Getting Started with Wireless" for additional information.
