Library Express

The UMass/Amherst Libraries offers a program called Library Express which provides direct, to your desktop or doorstep, delivery of materials from the library collections located in the W.E.B. Du Bois Library and in the Integrated Sciences and Engineering Library. The fee for this service is $5.00 per article or book and is available to any current faculty, students or staff, on campus or off, near or far.

How can I use the service?:
Submit your request as you would any Interlibrary Loan/Document Delivery request via the Interlibrary Loan request form. On each request please indicate which articles or books you would be willing to pay for if they are found in the UMass/Amherst collections. When filling out the request form simply indicate that you would like this request handled as a Library Express request at a cost of $5.00 via a dropdown box on each form.

How will I be billed?:
Students are billed weekly via the Bursar. Faculty and staff are billed weekly by the library directly and may pay by check at the Circulation office, entrance level, W.E.B. Du Bois Library or by mail to: Circulation Department / W.E.B. Du Bois Library / 154 Hicks Way / University of Massachusetts / Amherst , MA 01003 .

How will I receive my books?
Off campus users will receive delivery via USPS Priority Mail with signature needed for delivery. You will be responsible for returning this item to the Circulation Office by the due date indicated and for ensuring that the material is returned to us safely. We recommend using a traceable method of return to guarantee safe delivery. A mailing label is enclosed for your convenience.

On campus users will receive delivery via campus mail. A signature will be required.

How will I receive my copies?
Copies of articles, book chapters or other pages will be delivered to you according to the preference stated in your Interlibrary Loan/Document Delivery registration. We recommend choosing 'electronic delivery if possible" in your article delivery preferences for fastest service.

Please let us know if you have any questions or comments about this service.
