Information Literacy & Faculty Development

The Libraries work with faculty to ensure that professors and instructors at UMass remain up-to-date and engaged in the ever-changing array of information and library resources and services. The Libraries support the research, teaching and service needs of faculty through the following activities:

  • Librarian-led workshops at the Libraries and other campus locations on: RefWorks (the campus-wide citation management system), Imparting information literacy to students, Using library resources in teaching, and other topics
  • Consultations with subject librarians on how to design assignments that develop information literacy skills in students
  • Faculty-librarian collaborative development of online subject guides, course-specific guides and tutorials
