Camcorder and Audio Recorder Policies and Loan Information Sheet

15 Digital Video Cameras and 10 Digital Audio Recorders and their accessories are available exclusively to UMass Amherst students to assist them with multimedia class assignments thanks to the collaboration of the Office of Information Technology, the Provost's Office and the Libraries.

Olympus LS-10 Linear PCM Audio Recorder *

Audio recorders require 2 AA batteries (user supplied).

*User Supplied SD memory card 4Gb or greater recommended

Borrowing

All equipment is available for checkout at the Circulation/Reserves Desk on the Lower Level.
Equipment must be returned to the Du Bois Circulation/Reserves Desk.
STUDENTS ONLY! Borrowing is limited UMass Amherst students.
A valid UCard is required, a second picture ID may be required.
User supplied memory card may be required.

Loan Periods

3-day loan period starting the day the equipment is checked out.
Due to high demand, loans are not renewable online. Borrowing is on a first come, first served basis, and availability is limited!
Borrowers are liable for any loss or damage that occurs while the equipment is checked out to them. This includes loss or damage when left in a Library book drop.

Returns

Return equipment to the Circulation/Reserves Desk on the Lower Level of the Du Bois Library.
Please refrain from returning equipment to library book drop boxes. This can result in equipment damage.

Fines and Fees

Late fees are $50.00 per day or part of a day for any equipment checked out, up to a maximum of $150.00 per item. This includes accessories.
Non-refundable $10.00 billing fee and a $15.00 processing fee are added to bills for fines and replacement costs per item.

Replacement Costs

After 3 days borrowers will be billed for the replacement cost of the equipment.
