NOW ACCEPTING: Materials Requests for Spring 2012

FOR INSTRUCTORS:
^{Spring 2012 E-Reserves Materials are being processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Requests received prior to January 1, 2012 are guaranteed to be available for the start of the semester, Monday, January 23, 2012. All instructors will receive an activation notice via email when the course site is ready.}

To place a new materials request or activation use the forms at right, Book Chapters or Journal Articles, depending on the items you would like to use.

Email or call a staff member if you have any questions. We will be happy to assist you.

NOW ACCEPTING: Activation Requests for Winter and Spring 2012

FOR INSTRUCTORS: We are now accepting requests for material to be placed on reserve for Winter and Spring 2012 semesters.

Priority Deadlines for guaranteed availability on first day of the semester:

WINTER 2012 - Nov. 25

SPRING - Dec. 27

Deadlines also apply to any class being reactivated from a semester prior to Fall 2011.

E-Reserves staff will be out of the office from Friday August 26th, 2011 through Monday August 29th. We will respond to any email and voice messages on Tuesday, August 30th. This extended away is partially due to the campus closing notice for extreme weather.

All course reserve requests turned in prior to August 23rd will be available on September 6th. Materials turned in prior to early August may already be available on our new website, however official activation notices will be sent out at the end of August. If your instructor account has been activated, you will be able to logon using your NetID as BOTH the username and password.

Thank you for your patience while we continue to resolve our new website. Please email or call us if you have specific questions. We are looking forward to offering you expanded service this Fall semester.

The new e-reserves (Ares) website will be available to students and faculty starting August 23rd. Full user instructions will be available on this website at that time.

Instructors who have requested course activation for this Fall will receive an email from ereserves@library.umass.edu with their personal instructions the week of August 23rd.

If you are creating a course website on Spark, Moodle or other web page, please direct your students to http://ereserves.library.umass.edu/ for accessing reserves material (after August 23rd).
We will be providing students with information about the Ares portal.

An exciting development is in place this Summer, 2011 for E-Reserves. We have recently changed our software from Docutek to Ares. Ares is a reserves service provided by Atlas Systems, the same company who provides the ILLiad service for Interlibrary Loan at UMass. Ares has a number of new features we feel that are necessary to keep offering the best quality service to faculty and students. Over time we will be making new options available to you and will post here on our website as new features are offered.

We will keep you informed as these changes occur, but for this semester, you should continue doing whatever you have been doing to get your electronic reserves ready for the Fall 2011 Semester. The only change you and your students will see this Fall is a new, easier to use website.
