E-Reserves staff member Kimberly Wells has departed for new adventures - we will miss her talents and friendliness and thank her for four years of incredible service to the Reserves department. The new e-reserves (Ares) website will be available to students and faculty starting August 23rd. Full user instructions will be available on this website at that time.

Instructors who have requested course activation for this Fall will receive an email from ereserves@library.umass.edu with their personal instructions the week of August 23rd.

If you are creating a course website on Spark, Moodle or other web page, please direct your students to http://ereserves.library.umass.edu/ for accessing reserves material (after August 23rd).
We will be providing students with information about the Ares portal.

An exciting development is in place this Summer, 2011 for E-Reserves. We have recently changed our software from Docutek to Ares. Ares is a reserves service provided by Atlas Systems, the same company who provides the ILLiad service for Interlibrary Loan at UMass.  Ares has a number of new features we feel that are necessary to keep offering the best quality service to faculty and students.  Over time we will be making new options available to you and will post here on our website as new features are offered.

We will keep you informed as these changes occur, but for this semester, you should continue doing whatever you have been doing to get your electronic reserves ready for the Fall 2011 Semester.  The only change you and your students will see this Fall is a new, easier to use website.
