Scholarly Communication at UMass

While the Office of Scholarly Communication coordinates library services in scholarly communication to the UMass community, the actual process of communicating scholarship happens throughout the University.

University faculty conduct and publish RESEARCH;

University faculty TEACH;

the University faculty, staff, and students perform PUBLIC OUTREACH and SERVICE;

and University PUBLISHING makes information available in a number of ways, including:
- the University of Massachusetts Press (which also makes some material available through ScholarWorks)
- journals (some available through ScholarWorks)
- conferences and published proceedings (some available through ScholarWorks)
- research centers and institutes (some make papers available through ScholarWorks)
- dissertations and theses (recent and, increasingly, older editions are also available through ScholarWorks)
