Although nearly all of our manuscript collections are described on this website, these descriptions may not contain the fine detail necessary for all projects. We encourage researchers to contact our archivists to discuss your interests and help determine how we may best support your research.

Printed materials are catalogued in the general online catalog of the W.E.B. Du Bois Libraries, including all books, pamphlets, and periodicals. Summary information about each special book collection (though not individual titles) is cross-listed in UMarmot.

UMarmotUMarmot is a comprehensive inventory of our research collections, including manuscripts, photographs, university records (archives), and the papers of UMass faculty, staff, and alumni. Using UMarmot, researchers may view collections by subject categories or browse alphabetically by collection name, and all records include links to full finding aids, when available.
