DuBoisopedia is a wiki-fueled exploration of the life and times of W.E.B. Du Bois. As a comprehensive online encyclopedia, DuBoisopedia, seeks to capture the details, both large and small, that together made up Du Bois’s milieu. With the use of wiki technology, DuBoisopediawas created as a collaborative project that offers a forum to students and researchers who wish to share knowledge acquired either from their interactions with the Du Bois Papers, held at the Special Collections and University Archives (SCUA) at UMass Amherst, or from their interactions with the published writings of Du Bois and Du Bois criticism.
Any student or researcher engaged with Du Bois’s writings or ideas is welcome to contribute to DuBoisopedia. Since the site employs wiki technology, it can easily be updated by anyone who registers for an account. Once registered, participants are invited to edit a topic that already exists or create a new page for a topic that does not yet exist. Before getting started, we ask that new contributors review our guidelines for using the site.
As DuBoisopedia continues to grow, we remind visitors to the site that information found here is supplied by its users. Because the information is generated by many individuals, SCUA cannot guarantee that all of the content is accurate. We will do our best, however, to verify the accuracy of new content as it is added.
