Emancipation Proclamation
Du Bois’s pageant, Star of Ethiopia, was first performed in 1913 as the The People of Peoples and Their Gift to Man at New York’s 12th Regiment armory to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation.
