How to locate mapsThis online catalog includes an itemized listing of historic maps, atlases, and topographical views held by SCUA. All of the atlases and many, but not all, of the maps are also cataloged in the Library’s online catalog.
Search tips
For towns in Massachusetts, maps are indexed both under the name of the town and the county in which that town is located, and some have an indication of the type of map represented (railroad maps, bicycle maps, road maps, etc.). To ensure that you locate all relevant maps, it may be necessary to search under both town and county. Researchers may locate maps in one of two ways:
- Search using the search box at the upper right side of the page
- Select maps by location or type of map using the drop down menu at the upper right side of the page
