So that future generations may engage with the ideas, activities, and struggles of the past, the Department of Special Collections and University Archives collects, preserves, and makes available the written and audiovisual record of social change in America, the people of New England, and the University of Massachusetts Amherst community.
SCUA applies the highest standards and practices in the library and archival professions and makes use of the best available technology to make the historically and culturally valuable materials under our care available to the public.
