Gateway This link leads you to the catalogs of the Boston Library
Consortium (BLC), a cooperative association of sixteen academic and research
libraries, mostly located in the Boston area, but also including UMass
Amherst and Brown University. BLC Cards are used to gain access to, and
to borrow from, member libraries of the consortium. BLC Cards are available
to faculty, staff and students of UMass Amherst by contacting the Circulation
department at 413-545-2622. Center for Research Libraries A catalog of over 500, 000 items from an international not-for-profit consortium of colleges, universities, and libraries that makes available scholarly research resources to users everywhere. Provides access to many unique and unusual collections. CW/MARS A network of public,
academic, school, regional, and special libraries in Central
and Western Massachusetts.
Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture A national research library devoted to collecting, preserving and providing access to resources documenting the experiences of peoples of African descent throughout the world. Located in New York, NY, contains over 5,000,000 items. Library of Congress The Library of Congress Online Catalog contains approximately 12 million entries representing books, serials, computer files, manuscripts, cartographic materials, music, sound recordings, and visual materials. Virtual Catalog Allows library users to search multiple library catalogs simultaneously. UMass Amherst students, faculty, and staff with a valid IDmay also request books online while in the Virtual Union Catalog. When the book is ready for pickup at the W.E.B. Du Bois Library Charge Out Desk, the user will receive an email notice. WorldCat Also known as OCLC Online Union Catalog, contains the merged catalogs of libraries around the world, making it the world's largest database of bibliographic information. WorldCat houses over 46 million bibliographic records. |
