Call Number Locations

Anthropology books are to be found scattered throughout the Library of Congress's classification system that is used in the UMass Libraries to shelve books.

There are two sections that are specific to anthropology:

GN (anthropology excluding linguistics)

CC (theoretical and classical archeology). These call numbers are shelved on the 18th and 15th floors of the Du Bois Library respectively.

Linguistics is found at the beginning of the P section, shelved on the 12th floor.

Use the Library Catalog for fuller retrieval. Borrowing privileges are extended to all Massachusetts residents. In the Du Bois Library, the Reference Collection, as well as access to anthropology and other databases, is on the Main Floor, one floor below the Entrance level.
