  2. Use the Database Searching Log to keep track of your searches and search strategies.
  3. Use RefWorks to manage your citations and create your bibliography.
  4. After you've run a search, use the button (if the database has it) to retrieve articles.
  • Academic Search Premier - Multidisciplinary database with many anthropology journals (includes full text.) Citations can be added to a folder and exported directly to RefWorks through the Save function.
  • Anthropological Index Online

    The place to start for anthropology research. Indexes articles, books, and more. Citations can be exported directly to RefWorks.

  • Anthropology Review Database ARD - Reviews of anthropological publications, including books, audiovisual materials, software & multimedia, exhibits, tourist sites, conferences, and on-line resources.
  • CAB Abstracts - International in scope, covers research in the applied life sciences, including human nutrition. Abstracts and indexing for journals, serial publications, conference proceedings, books, theses, annual reports, patents & standards. Citations can be added to a folder and exported directly to RefWorks through the Save function.
  • CINAHL - Nursing database. Citations can be added to a folder and exported directly to RefWorks through the Save function.

  • eHRAF Collection of Ethnography
    Full text collection and index to cross-cultural ethnographic research.
    Citing a Document from eHRAF - "When citing a document from eHRAF, use the citation style you normally would use (e.g., MLA, AAA style) for the author, title, and publication information and then add the following: 'As seen in the eHRAF Collection of Ethnography on the Web, (use the current date, month/day/year)."   • Ethnic Newswatch - Full-text articles from the newspapers, magazines and journals of ethnic communities in the United States. Most articles are in English, but many from Latino periodicals are in Spanish. Citations can exported directly to RefWorks .
  • JSTOR (full text) - Many of the premier, core anthropology journals are in this database.
  • PubMed - National Library of Medicine's comprehensive database of citations to medical journal articles.
  • Sociological Abstracts - Good for the study of social aspects of medical and health issues. Citations can exported directly to RefWorks .
  • Web of Science - Allows multidisciplinary searches combining arts, humanities, social science and science. Good for seeing who cited whom. Good for academic book reviews.
