MicroformsThe Human Relations Area Files (HRAF) are a microfiche collection of books, articles, and unpublished papers on more than 360 ethnic, religious, cultural, and national groups worldwide. The Files are arranged by culture or group and then by cultural feature. The guides to the collection are listed below. A more detailed description is available with the microfiche in the Microforms Room of Du Bois Library. UMass has all of the HRAF microfiche issued (e.g. through 1993, installment 42), but has not yet purchased the newer updates. The library does, however, now have the online version, called eHRAF Collection of Ethnography, which does not completely duplicate the microfiche. For basic assistance in using the collection ask in the Microforms Room or at the Reference Desk. For more detailed help, ask to see the Anthropology Librarian. Human Relations Area Files, Inc.
