Isenberg School: SOM 210 Lab Assignments

 

SOM 210 (Introduction to Business Information Systems) integrates Library databases into weekly lab assignments. Lab teams conduct research using the Business & Company Resource Center, LexisNexis, and Mergent Online.

Lab 1: Sort companies by industry and sales. Select target company.
Lab 2: Locate articles about a company's market position.
Lab 3: Review investment reports. Evaluate company performance.
Lab 4: Evaluate company website using CARS checklist.
Lab 5: Build an industry peer report. Master Mergent Online.
Lab 6: Identify litigation against a company. Master LexisNexis.
Lab 7: Evaluate professional and trade association websites.
Lab 8: Locate articles about knowledge management in the workplace.
