The library provides online access to current U.S. and global industry reports. The U.S. government defines 1,170 industries according to the North American Industrial Classification System, NAICS. Start your industry research with IBISWorld. For help with industry research, contact J. Michael Davis, Business Librarian.

IBISWorld United States
Industry reports on the past, current, and expected performance of every industry in the U.S. economy. Key Content: Statistics, market segments, industry conditions, major players, performance analysis, and 5-year forecasts.

Encyclopedia of American Industries
Reports on 1,100 U.S. industries. Access: Part of the Business & Company Resource Center (BCRC). Go to BCRC, click Advanced Search. Select "Industry Overviews" from the Content Area drop-down menu.

Encyclopedia of Global Industries
Part of the Business & Company Resource Center (BCRC). Go to BCRC, click Advanced Search. Select "Industry Overviews" from the Content Area drop-down menu. In the first search box, type the word global, then select Sources from the drop-down menu.

Standard & Poor's Industry Surveys
S&P NetAdvantage provides online access to the S&P Industry Surveys. Click the Industry Navigation button at the top, then select an industry from the listing.

ISI Emerging Markets
Use ISI Emerging Markets to study industries in other countries. On the opening webpage, select a country, then click the Industry Navigation Bar at top.

NewsBank. Full-text of three Massachusetts daily newspapers from Boston, Springfield, and Pittsfield.

Wall Street Journal. Full-text/full-image of every WSJ article - 1889 to present.

Current Industrial Reports. Monthly, quarterly, and annual measures of industrial activity.
