Congressional hearings and reports provide a wealth of information for the communication researcher. Hearings (Y4.) are the transcripts of testimony, questions by committee members, answers by witnesses, and statements or exhibits by interested parties. Reports (Y1.1/) give committee findings and recommendations. While searching the Library Catalog is one way of locating hearings and reports, it is more useful to use CIS Index to Congressional Publications and Legislative Histories (Gov Docs Ref KF 49 C 62). Following are a few examples of hearings and reports.
