Education Research Guide
Call Number Locations

Most books and other materials on education reside in the 'L' section of the Library of Congress Classification system we use to organize materials by subject in the Libraries.

The 'L's currently sit on the 20th floor of the W.E.B. Du Bois Library. The Library of Congress call number areas that contain a significant number of books, journals and other materials on education include:

LA History of education

LB Theory and practice of education

LC Special aspects of education

LD Individual institutions - United States

LE Individual institutions - America (except United States)

LF Individual institutions - Europe

LG Individual institutions - Asia, Africa, Indian Ocean Islands, Australia, New Zeland, Pacific Islands

LH College and school magazines and newspapers

LJ Student fraternities and societies

LT Textbooks (Du Bois Library collects very few textbooks)

Use the Library Catalog for fuller retrieval.

Massachusetts residents may borrow library materials.

Visit the Main Level (the floor below the Entrance level) of the W.E.B. Du Bois Library to use the Reference Collection and conduct web-based research.
