  • Ameristat from the Population Reference Bureau and Social Science Data Analysis Network. U.S. population statistics and data mostly from the U.S. Census Bureau. Topics include: Marriage & Family; Race & Ethnicity; Political Arithmetic; Education; Foreign Born Population; Labor Force & Employment
  • The Condition of Education An annual report to Congress by the National Center for Education Statistics that focuses on 60 indicators, representing a consensus of  professional judgment on the most significant national measures of the condition and progress of education.
  • Digest of Education Statistics, 2002 From the National Center for Education Statistics. 
  • Edinfomatics (Education for the Information Age) Includes free educational databases on curriculum (framework), lesson plans, educational agencies, school stats, research, science and math reform, professional development, state tests and a parent's guide. 
  • Education News Releases From the United States Census Bureau
  • Encyclopedia of Educational Statistics Brings together several statistical reports published by National Center for Education Statistics.
  • Fast Facts From the National Center for Education Statistics- Education. Includes the categories of Early Childhood Education, Secondary Education, Postsecondary Education and References/Other Issues. There is also a search engine for title searches within the Fast Facts.
  • Government Documents on the Web The page selected here is from Louisiana State University. It contains a list of Federal Agencies and offers a keyword search. Select agency to see list of titles available from that agency or type education in the keyword option.
  • Minority Links for Media  Statistical information broken down by various ethnic groups.
  • National Center for Education Statistics "The primary federal entity for collecting and analyzing data related to education". A search engine is available.
  • Nation's Report Card   National Assessment of Educational Progress.  This site offers results regarding subject-matter,                              achievement, instructional experiences, and school environment for populations of students  and subgroups of those populations
  • Projections of Education Statistics to 2010 This includes national and state level projections. A search engine is also available.
  • Statistical Abstract of the United States Need Adobe Acrobat Reader in order to view the documents. Tables available online are 1995-2000.
  • Statistical Analysis from the ERIC/AE Library. Includes full text articles, software descriptions, and reports of theories and methods.
  • Statistical Resources on the Web (The University of Michigan has compiled this collection of statistical information sources available through the World Wide Web. Relevant sections include resources on "business," "education," and "government.") Choose Education from the left hand column. Excellent resources

  • United States Census Bureau Census 2000 data.
  • United States Department of Education Research and Statistics Latest research findings, statistics, and information on education for parents, teachers, school board  members, policy makers, and the general public.
  • White House Initiative Research and Resources This site has a lot of links related to Latinos and Education. You need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the documents.

  • Indicators on Literacy   United Nations - searchable 
  • National Statistics Subtitled The Official UK Statistics Site, this searchable site provides vital statistics, census, economic, employment data, health, crime, education, and much more.
  • OECD Education Database The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development has created this database of "internationally comparable data on key aspects of  the education systems," including information on educational finance, enrollment, and professional personnel. Click on Statistics Note that many of the links refer to publications. The right hand table, however does include downloadable files.
  • Open Doors: Report on International Educational Exchange -- A reference source! Ref LB 2283 I615 (annual)
  • Statistical Databases:  an excellent page filled with links to educational and other international statistical sources compiled by the Multicultural Pavilion.   Might be a little dated though.
  • Unesco Education and Literacy Database Under the subheadings, there are options to choose tables organized by region, country and time period (1970 - 1995).
  • Unesco World Indicators Tables After selecting an indicator there are options to have tables appear by region, country and time period (1975 - 1997).
  • United Nations Statistics Includes a search engine and sections for global or national statistics.
  • World Data on Education The International Bureau of Education has created this database of statistical information covering 80 national education systems worldwide. Click on site map for a nice breakdown of categories. You need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view some documents.
  • World Education Report 2000 Regional and Country Tables (Need to have Excel 97 or more updated version open to view the documents.)

  • The National Center for ESL Literacy Education, an Adjunct ERIC Clearinghouse. Resources for Statistics and Data Related to Adult English Language Learners Contains a list of statistics on adult ESL programs and populations. The site also includes annotations and links to relevant Web sites and online reports.

  • Child Stats.Gov --Official Web site of the Federal Interagency Forum on Child and Family Statistics  Click on "relatedsites" to  find education statistics. 
  • Common Core of Data--Information on Public Schools and School Districts in the United States.
  • Education Data Links Provided by National Education Association for quick educational statistical information.
  • Elementary and Secondary Education - Digest of Education Statistics This chapter contains a variety of statistics on public and private elementary and secondary education. Data are presented for enrollments, teachers, schools, student performance, graduates, and expenditures. These data are derived from surveys conducted by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) and other public and private organizations. The variety of information ranges from simple counts of students and schools to opinions of teachers and students concerning the state of education today. 
  • Kid's Count 2002  State profiles of child well-being. This includes a searchable database. 
  • Massachusetts Department of Education Statistical reports broken down by numerous categories

  • State Profiles of Public Elementary and Secondary Education The data that are reported are those most  commonly used to present a thumbnail sketch of the resources,   needs, organization, and special characteristics of education within a state.
