Government Information Research Guide E-journals Access thousands of federal and state government journals electronically from the Library Catalog. Almost all government databases are available to off campus users. Databases that the library subscribes to are available on Library computers to all. They are available off-campus to UMass students, faculty, staff, and affiliates with an OIT account ; enter your OIT username and password when prompted. Search by specific title Search for specific journal or periodical titles in the Library Catalog by the title or Superintendent of Documents (SuDoc) classification number. Search by keyword Search journals and periodicals in a researcher's topic area by keyword followed by the word "periodicals" (e.g. government periodicals) Search by subject Using the "Library of Congress Subject Headings" (Ref Z695 L695), search government periodicals under appropriate subject headings followed by the subdivision "Periodicals" | Indexes | | Major Journals | Titles of indexes and Web sites to search specifically for online periodicals and serials issued by federal agencies as well as a list of key government electronic journals, follow. Government Periodicals (University of Louisville) Migrating Government Publications (University of Memphis) A sampling (not an exhustive list) of the wide range of major journals published by the federal government follows. The beginning date identifies when the journal first appeared online and not necessarily when the journal began publication. For many titles the Library holds print issues for earlier and/or later years. Check the Library Catalog for more complete information.
