Associations and Societies

Associations and societies provide a wealth of information relevant to a discipline. Professional academic groups hold conferences, publish conference proceedings, and keep members informed about upcoming activities and changes in the field. Students and researchers identify individual scholars in the field and their research interests through these organizations. Associations often post on their website papers delivered at the professional conferences they sponsor and articles published in the association's scholarly journal. Conference papers contain valuable research and may never appear in print. A number of associations in health sciences appear below.
