It is often useful and/or convenient to visit or use the catalog of another library to locate additional materials on a topic. UMass faculty, staff and students holding a valid ID card are eligible to request items not owned by the UMass Amherst Libraries through our Interlibrary Loan Service. United States National Library of Medicine Search catolog, collections and databases. World's largest medical library.
BLC Gateway Search the catalogs of the Boston Library Consortium (BLC), a cooperative association of sixteen academic and research libraries, mostly located in the Boston area, but also including UMass Amherst and Brown University. BLC Cards are used to gain access to, and to borrow from, member libraries of the consortium. BLC Cards are available to faculty, staff, and students of UMass Amherst by contacting the Circulation Department 413-545-2622. Use the Virtual Catalog to order books, videos, and books-on-tape for pickup at the Circulation Desk in the W.E.B. Du Bois Library.
WorldCat Find out what libraries own a particular book and publication information. Also known as the OCLC Online Union Catalog, contains the merged catalogs of libraries around the world, making it the world's largest database of bibliographic records.
University of California Nine Campus Catalog Contains records for books, maps, videos, and sound recordings from the libraries of UC's nine campuses. Includes holdings of the California State Library, California Academic of Sciences, California Historical Society, Center for Research Libraries, and the Graduate Theological Union. The catalog contains over 10 million titles representing over 15.7 million items.
Harvard University Library Catalog Search over 11 million items in the collections of the Harvard Libraries. Interlibrary loan and walk-in borrowing privileges are limited.
Library of Congress Contains approximately 12 million records representing books, serials, computer files, manuscripts, maps, music, sound recordings, and visual materials. As an integrated database, the Online Catalog includes 3.2 million catalog records from an earlier database. These catalog records, primarily for books and serials cataloged between 1898 and 1980, are being edited to reflect contemporary language and usage.
