Library Catalog The Library Catalog is often the most appropriate place to begin your research. It allows you to search for materials in many different ways (e.g., author, title, author/title, subject, keyword, call number, journal title). When looking for materials on a specific subject, try typing a term into the Subject search box. The red, multi-volume Library of Congress Subject Headings (Z695.L695+) located near the Reference Desk in the UMass Amherst Libraries, suggests search terms or headings.
