IMMIGRATION

America is a nation of immigrants.  Over the centuries new immigrants have arrived in varying numbers, by different means, and for different purposes.  New waves of immigrants create economic, social, and cultural pressures which can become contentious and divisive in our society .  In order to resolve such problems the federal government develops policies and introduces legislation to address the issues.  This guide collects and organizes the growing accumulation of reports, legislation, debate, and statistics issued by the federal government related to immigration in America.
