Most disciplines adopt a particular style guide. Style guides usually include information on formatting papers and articles for academic purposes or publication, citation style, grammar, spelling, capitalization, and other writing preferences.

Citation Style(s)

Scholars in Spanish favor the Modern Languages Association, or MLA style. (PN147.A28 1984) Those in anthropology prefer APA, or American Psychological Association Style. (Ref BF 76.7 .P83 2001) Consult your department to determine which style faculty prefer.
