How to Find: STATUTES BY CITATION

Westlaw Campus Research Click on the Law tab at the top of the page. Under Shortcuts and Find in the upper left hand corner, enter the citation of the statute in the top box, e.g. 20 U.S.C.A. 6301 and click Go.
United States Code Annotated KF62 1927 W45 (5th floor, shelf number 2) A law published in United States Code Annotated, a codified version of the Statutes at Large, includes the title number, the abbreviation U.S.C.A. and the section number. Using the example 20 U.S.C.A. §6301, the citation to "No Child Left Behind" find the volume 20 which includes section 6301.

Westlaw Campus Research Click on the Law tab at the top of the page. Under Shortcuts and Find in the upper left hand corner, using the Massachusetts statute Mass. Gen. Laws Ann. ch. 69 §1D as an example, enter the citation according to the format in the Help (FAQ's) link in the upper right hand corner of each page. For the Massachusetts statute Mass. Gen. Laws Ann. ch. 69 §1D, it would be: mast69s1d and click Go.
Massachusetts General Laws Annotated Ref KFM2430 1958 W4 KFM 2430 1958 W4 (5th floor, shelf number 34) A statute published in the Massachusetts General Laws Annotated will include the chapter number, the abbreviation M.G.L.A. and the section number, e.g. 69 M.G.L.A. §1D. Using this example, the volume with 69 on the spine which includes section 1D is the appropriate volume.
