Legal Studies Research Guide
Articles, Journals, and Periodicals

Here are some tips for finding articles, journals, and periodicals.

Articles on a Topic
To find articles on a specific topic, search one of the Library's many databases relevant to Legal Studies. Among the most comprehensive are LexisNexis Academic and LegalTrac. All these resources are available remotely to UMass faculty, students, and staff with their OIT accounts, and in the Library to all.

Journals on a Topic
To search for journals and periodicals on a topic in the Library Catalog, conduct a Subject search in the UMass Library Catalog and add the word "periodicals" at the end of your search; e.g., education periodicals

Journals by Title
To search for a specific journal or periodical, conduct a Journal Title search in the Umass Library Catalog. Note call number.

E- journals
To locate online journals, search by journal title in the Electronic Journal Locator, e.g. Journal of Law and Society. For more information, consult the E-Journals page.
