E-books

NetLibrary

NetLibrary is an online, full-text book service. Although this e-book collection contains many excellent titles and is convenient to use, it is not nearly as extensive as the Library's print holdings. E-books are not yet available on all topics.

Off-campus access to NetLibrary is available to UMass Amherst students, faculty, staff, and affiliates through their OIT account. Enter your OIT username and password when prompted. First-time users must set up an account. In NetLibrary, select "Create an account," and then provide a username and password. Thereafter, connect from anywhere.

Type your subject in the "Subject" line, then click "Search." You can also search by the title or author of the book.

Finding E-books Through the Library Catalog

In addition to searching NetLibrary, you can find e-books through the UMass Amherst Libraries Catalog. Searching the catalog without limits will locate both print and electronic books, and records for e-books will include links to the online versions.

To limit catalog searches to e-books only, conduct an Advanced Search in the UMass Amherst Libraries Catalog by author, title, subject, or keyword search, choosing the Format "E-books" under Limits.
