Finding Electronic Books NetLibrary is an online, full-text book service. Although this e-book collection contains many excellent titles and is convenient to use, it is not nearly as extensive as the Library's print holdings. E-books are not yet available on all topics. Access to NetLibrary from off-campus is available to UMass Amherst students, faculty and staff with their OIT account. First-time users must be on campus to set up an account. In NetLibrary, select "Create an account," and then provide a username and password. Thereafter, you can connect from anywhere. Select Subject from the drop down menu, type your subject in the box, then click "Search." You can also search by the title or author of the book. Selected NetLibrary E-books on political science related topics follow. Watson, B. C. S (1999). Civil rights and the paradox of liberal democracy. Lanham, Md.: Lexington Books. Allen, A. L. (1998). Debating democracy's discontent : Essays on American politics, law, and public philosophy. Tatum, J. S. (2000). Muted voices : The recovery of democracy in the shaping of technology. Bethlehem, Pa. Lehigh University Press. Simai, M. (1999). The democratic process and the market : Challenges of the transition. New York: United Nations University.
