Economic pressures force reductions in hours in all campus libraries. There are several changes from the usual semester hours; some of the key changes follow. The W.E.B. Du Bois Library and the Physical Sciences and Engineering Library will open at 9:00 a.m. weekdays, instead of 8:00 a.m. The W.E.B. Du Bois Library will close at 11:00 p.m. Sunday-Thursday, instead of midnight, and it will close at 5:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, not 10:00 p.m. The Biological Sciences Library will be open 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. weekdays, with no weekend hours. The Physical Sciences and Engineering Library will be closed Saturdays. The W.E.B. Du Bois Library will open at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, not 10:00 a.m. The Library administration analyzed patrons’ activity to determine usage patterns and to minimize the impact of reduced hours on users. Library hours are available at http://www.library.umass.edu/hours.htm and by recorded message at (413) 545-0414. For more information about Library hours and services, contact Emily
