Transfer of Material to Five College Library Depository, 5/21/03

In March 2003, the Faculty Senate voted to support the Research Library Council's recommendation to consolidate and reorganize the Biological Sciences Library and the Physical Sciences and Engineering Library into a single Integrated Sciences and Engineering Library. The report states that the best site for the integrated library is the space currently occupied by the Physical Sciences and Engineering Library in Lederle lowrise.

To accomplish this consolidation, approximately 100,000 volumes of lesser-used material must be moved from the Physical Sciences and Engineering Library to the Five College Library Depository. The Bibliographer for Physical Sciences, Mathematics and Engineering, Eric Esau, is identifying items for relocation. Materials stored at the Depository may be requested using a web request form, which is included in the library catalog record for each title. The usual turn around time on requests is 24 hours during weekdays. Materials at the Depository may also be consulted on site by appointment.
