Virtual Reality (VR) is an immersive, interactive digital media platform that is now available at the DML. The VR system can be used for personal and/or academic use. VR is being implemented in industries such as entertainment, health services, architecture, and education/training.

The HTC Vive VR system is available in a dedicated space of 20ft x 20ft. DML staff supervise all VR usage to make sure patrons have an enjoyable and safe experience. Reservations are required for the use of the VR service as no walk-ins are allowed at this time.
A variety of virtual experiences like games, learning applications, and virtual experiences (360 degree movies) are available. Please review our software application catalog.
Rules and Expectations
The VR system is available only to patrons with an active UCard and via reservation. 5 College students that are taking a course at UMass Amherst may request to gain access to our VR services via the 5 College Student Equipment Borrowing Request webform. Reservations can be made using the link below. The VR system is shut down 15 minutes prior to DML closing time.
