Reserve a Group Study Room

Welcome to the UMass Learning Commons Group Study Room Reservation System

The UMass Learning Commons located in the Lower Level of the W.E.B. Du Bois Library has 18 Group Study Rooms available for reservation of groups of 3 or more. In order to assure that a room is available for your group, please reserve a room.  Rooms can be used without a reservation, however, you may be asked to move for a group with reservations. 

About reservations

Reserve a Group Study Room

Rooms may only be reserved by groups of three or more UMass students. Reservations are limited to a maximum of 2 hours per day; 2 times per week (4 hours weekly); 1 hour is the minimum reservation. 

Who can reserve a group study room?

Students of 3 or more who are doing academic/coursework may reserve the Group Study Rooms.

Can 1 person use a group study room?

An individual may use an unreserved Group Study Room, but rooms cannot be reserved for individual use. Individuals using a room may be asked to leave by a group needing space. 

How far in advance can I make a reservation?

Reservations may be made up to two weeks in advance.

What if a group is late for their reservation?

Reservations may be canceled if the study group has not arrived by 15 minutes after the start of the reservation.

How do I reserve a room?

Click on a green block to make a reservation.

  • Green - Available to reserve.
  • Blue - Libraries are closed or available without reservation.
  • Red - Reserved.
  • Yellow - waiting for confirmation.

I don't need the reservation I made. What should I do?

The LC Group Study Rooms are in great demand. If you no longer need a reservation, please cancel using the room scheduling site. 

I reserved a group study room but someone else is in there. What should I do?

If someone is occupying a room that you have a confirmed reservation for, politely inform them that you have a reservation. If there is a problem, please contact the Learning Commons Technical and Support Desk for assistance.
